Christmas Crafts - Snowman Ornament

Supplies

    Paint - Delta Ceramcoat:

      Ivory or Old Parchment
      Black
      Maroon

      Fruitwood liquid stain
      Blush
22 gauge wire (or thinner) for hanging
thin piece of wood - 1/2" thick works best

      stretchy material 6" x 6"

Cut the head and nose out of wood. "Chunk" the top sides of the head and nose with a sander. (just the bottom round section of the head) Paint the nose maroon and head ivory or old parchment. When dry, lightly spackle (using old toothbrush) the heart with black paint. Using a stylus or toothpick, make dots as shown for the mouth. When dry, lightly apply stain on both the front and back of all wood pieces. Add some blush to the top dots of the smile.

ASSEMBLY:
Glue the nose on as shown and then add 2 dots for eyes right above the nose. Fashion a tube out of the stretchy material - either sew the seam (preferred) or glue it. Place the tube on the head, roll it up once a bit and then glue it to the head. Make a loop out of wire, stick it in the top of the hat so it still pokes out some. Add some glue to the wire to keep it in place. Now tie the top of the hat with a thread or jute. Catch the wire in your thread and it will stay put nicely. Make a small bow out of material scraps and add a little star in the middle if you want. Glue bow onto hat.
